Communication is of vital importance in personal as well as professional life. Even when you don’t speak you communicate some message and this conveying message without speaking words is non-verbal communication. To be a successful non-verbal communicator, you need to follow some tips and these tips are given below:

There are three basic aspects of non-verbal communication that are body movements, posture and hands gestures. Control these aspects and be a successful communicator. Relax your facial muscles and control your abdominal respirations. By your body language, you can effectively convey a message for getting desired feedback.

Avoid straining your eyes. Your eyes tell a lot about your current condition. Past studies show that evasion from eye contact means that a person is trying to deceive, tell a lie or hide something etc. Evasion of eyes is hurdle in effective communication as well as long staring action is also not favorable. Your eye contact should be adequate to show you confident and eligible to convey effective message. You should have four to five seconds interval in eye contact.

Try to eliminate bad communication habits during stressful or tension situations. Some people make a mistake to fiddle with small things in their pockets like key rings, pencils or coins etc. The worst mistake is to rub the face and other body parts with tension of confusion. Try to get rid of these frustrating actions to prevent ineffective communication and misunderstandings.

Following these tips, you can become a successful non-verbal communicator. Non-verbal communication and verbal communications always go together therefore learn to maintain balance of both your words and expressions. This way you can make your communication work in your favor.

Here is a list of four important issues to be considered while conducting confidential job search. These points to be considered include:

Online Cloaking

Basic Common Sense

Networking Hazards

Honesty Works

Online Cloaking

Take services of online job banks and resume sending services that have made it easy to send your resume to hundreds of companies with just clicks of buttons. Consider these important safeguards for your benefits:

Try to know about the internet career service your employer is uses to keep your job search secret by avoiding giving your resume to that internet career service.

Be skeptical of internet services that ask too much information.

Read an internet site’s user policy before you proceed.

Basic Common Sense

Choosing to do job search at workplace is quite dangerous. You not only run the risk of being caught but you also neglect your work. No employer will be ready to pay you to slake off. To keep your job search confidential, you must do the job search out of office. Take following precautions in this regard:

Don’t give any work contact information. Use your personal cellular phone to contact interviewers or employers. It is better to step out to take the call.

Usually employers keep check on your emails for security. Setup a professional but separate email address for use in job search.

Don’t schedule any interview during office hours. Coming late to work can make your current employer suspicious. It is better to use vacation time for interviews.

Don’t give reference of your current job.

Network Hazards

Consider these tips while networking for job search:

Don’t use business card with company’s logo where you are working at present. It is better to print personal professional cards for reference in job search.

Closely analyze a contact’s personality. A person who knows you may expose your secrets that may go against you. Be careful in this regard.

Honesty Works

Take these particular steps in this regard to keep your job search confidential:

Stress that your search is confidential. Don’t take a risk with hope that recruiter assumes so.

Demand for a written job offer before you give permission to your new employer to contact with old one. It is completely reasonable to protect yourself.

Job search is always a risky game and should be played very carefully. Follow the tips mentioned above and search for new opportunities confidentially.

Person to person job searching is considered as hand-down preferred method. People think that networking works more than just talking. People should go to association meetings and ask for vacancies or openings. They should collect business cards of professionals and expect to have some realistic good reason to talk to those professionals. People expect to be remembered by professionals when any vacancy or opening turns up.

You should make a written and researched plan for networking containing information about whom you want to talk and think to see these people face to face. You should make a clear agenda for meeting thinking how to ask for further contacts and meetings and continue your network plan. Keep it in mind that poor networking is worst than no networking.

Meeting people is an important thing and making good impression is much important than that. Meeting lots of people and having talk with them is not so important but it doesn’t mean that you are getting closer to your new job. If people you meet with are not impressed by you or if they think that you are too arrogant, too meek, too timid or not committed enough, too confused then network of more than hundred contacts will generate hundred poor impressions. Think carefully in creating your network. Study success and know what you want to achieve and where you want to reach.

Great interview is possible with careful groundwork. You can ace your interview following tips shared below:

Be relaxed and quiet negative self chatter in your head through meditation or visualization before you go for a meeting. You need to focus on present moment and there will be fewer chances to experience lapses in concentration, nervousness, self doubt and self-condemnation.

Be well prepared to act spontaneous. Be self authentic and professional and engage yourself in true conversation with interviewer. It is good to conduct several trials with some other person stimulating the interview before you go to interview.

Make a set of goals for interview. You have to make the meeting secured by creating an environment that interviewer will know what he/she should know about your skills, abilities, accomplishments and capabilities. Clear all misconceptions before you leave. If you feel that interviewer is not asking you the questions that will bring your skills on the scene then make a situation and answer those questions. Don’t leave meeting till you get answers of your questions.

Concentrate to know the question behind the question. Basically every question of interviewer has a disguised question in it that “Why should we hire you?” Be sure to make your answer complete and convincing.

Follow up with an effective and professional “Thank You” letter. It is another chance to show your professionalism therefore make sure not to write this letter lightly. Pick up some points discussed in interview and expand them in your letter.

Consider interviewer’s view point as he/she is responsible to appoint competent candidate. You need to justify your ability to perform that job.

Don’t hesitate to ask questions about organization’s culture. Carefully plan your answers in short time including examples of your achievements. Know as much about job description as possible before you answer a question.

Drive your facial expressions in your favor as non-verbal clues speak more than verbal communications therefore read interviewer’s expressions rightly and give good expressions.

Show very smart attitude while discussing money matters. Don’t tell the employer your financial expectations. Ask the range in which that job position falls then place your demand. It will also be good to postpone money discussion to next meeting.

Carefully follow tips mentioned above to surely hunt job you want.

There is no surety that you will get job offers if you come out of a reputed school and also you will have to face rejection in your life if you came out of a regular institution that is not in the list of excellent schools. Don’t feel you entitled for job offers pilling in your mail box or face rejection throughout your career.

Focus on One Particular Skill to Excel in Professional Life

It will be good for all graduates to focus on one skill rather than landing in job market with single general diploma. Develop one particular skill you are best at. Taking additional classes and trainings will go in your favor and hunt a best job for you.

Get Information about Jobs in Demand

There are many fields that are booming in the present era of economic slowdown that are health, education and government. Seek information about the jobs in demand and narrow this list down including the jobs in match with your skills.

Get Information

Once you have targeted a specialized area that you believe to fit your skills and abilities, collect detailed information about that industry. You can get this information sitting in your home using internet. Visit official sites of that industry and social networking sites to collect information about repute, past and growing trends of that industry. Also make a list of its competitors and try to know the plus points of that organization to discuss in your meeting with employer. Many candidates are waiting for jobs but those are being preferred who make the employers that they do their homework. Try to be dedicated towards that company before getting job.

Don’t Hesitate to Accept Low-Level Positions

If you get low-level job in the area of your interest, avail it. Many successful people have stories to share that they started from a very low paying position and now they have attained their dream positions. Try to be one of these successful professional people.
